Person with Cheeto dust on their fingers.

As I look down at my keyboard and type, I notice orange dust covering the keys. I am currently 17 weeks pregnant, and I am counting down the minutes till 11:30, which my coworker has deemed an appropriate time to have lunch. In the meantime, I am snacking on Cheetos. I am not sure if any other ladies utilize a pregnancy app, but I use one, and it said that at 17 weeks, a woman begins to notice an increased appetite. And boy oh boy do I feel it!

In all seriousness, the changes that are occurring right now in my body are both exciting and a little scary. All my regular jeans have been pushed to the back of my closet, and stretchy dresses have become my best friend for work days! Though I still experience nausea, it is nowhere near the level it was during the first 4 months which is a HUGE win!

I visited my nephews this past weekend, and was greeted by “Good morning, Aunt Maxine” at about 6 AM every morning! It really gave me a glimpse of what is to come. Early mornings, fatigue, but the best snuggles and smiles that make 6 am the most joyous time of the day. Though I have plenty more time to be pregnant and prepare, I notice the excitement and jitters as well!

So, as the Cheetos are now gone, and I have shared what I am experiencing in my own pregnancy, I want to encourage all you pregnant ladies out there. No matter if you just took a home test, are still unsure if your period is just late, or you are 17 weeks like me, this journey is truly life-altering, exciting, and nerve-wrecking.
